In 2015 when we started doing our Mobile Vet trips our charity organisation was registered in Australia only. Over 2 years while we were doing these small vet trips out to remote areas of Thailand, we were checking out possible locations for an elephant retirement home. We eventually found a beautiful location but it quickly became obvious there were too many legal hurdles with our organisation not being registered in Thailand. Becoming registered is a very long and expensive process, made longer for us with a huge amounts of wrong advice and a number of rejections with our application. So we very happy to share that we are finally, officially registered as a Foundation in Thailand. It has come at a sad time, during a global pandemic. There are more elephants suffering than ever before, whether they are in harsh trecking camps or lucky enough to be in sanctuaries, they all rely on tourists for income and the tourism industry has been obliterated. We hope that sooner rather than later the world can return to normal, a more appreciative normal. When logistics allow it, we will continue what we had set out to achieve, in the meantime we will focus on raising funds.
We will work with elephant owners providing them with the income they would usually make from working their elephants, but the elephants will retire and live in their natural habitat with elephant companionship and freedom to display natural elephant behaviour
